FRACTIONS

We have learned how to write fractions, using parts of a whole, naming fractions, and visualizing fractions. We have learned how to find equivalent fractions. We have also learned how to find the fractional part of a number, how to change improper fractions to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions, and how to add and subtract fractions. This was a neat site to practice changing mixed numbers to improper fractions. Here is another cool site for equivalent fractions. This is a concentration game for equivalent fractions. MEASUREMENT

We will start the this 9 wks with measurement in math. We will be using customary and metric units. Some of the things we will be doing are measuring things to the nearest inch, 1/2 inch, and 1/4 inch. We will learn units of capacity and weight, how to determine perimeter, and how to determine temperature with Fahrenheit and Celsius. This is a metric matching game that is fun! Here is a website that uses a ruler for metric measurement.
